Backgrounds

The background sets the scene for the simulation – be it an office, a shop or a forest. Backgrounds are available to you from the sim canvas, scene view and scene content view.

As with characters, BranchTrack offers stock background images and you can use your own background images. In the same way as with characters, a background is added to the first scene and inherited in all the following scenes. But you can also change the background from scene to scene. If the background icon  in scene view appears orange, that means a unique background has been added to this scene. The chosen background is marked with a tick.

When choosing the background in the Backgrounds tab, you will be shown a preview of your sim with the chosen background.

Upload the background image the same way as you would a character – clicking on the panel on your sim canvas or entering a scene and using the Upload image button. Use only images you have the rights to use. Images that you have uploaded yourself will appear with a cloud icon.

When adding your own background, keep in mind:

• You can only use PNG and JPG files.
• Since BranchTrack simulations are responsive, there are no strict sizes you should use. Play around and see what works for you. We recommend not using images smaller than 800x500 pixels. Keeps in mind, using high quality images can result in slower loading speed of the simulation.
• The image is aligned perfectly with the simulation.
• We recommend blurring the image slightly (for better visibility), but it is completely up to you.

If you choose No background, the background will be a gray grid.
